Pots & co Salted Caramel
Shopping in Tesco, possibly having the worst day I’ve had a for a very long time, the almighty important question was asked “What should we have for dessert?” Debating whether to decide on the fifteen different options on cheesecake, a hot desert like melt in middle puddings or trifle! Lucky for me trifle was discarded and Pots&co was chosen. Pots & co is London based dessert company specialising in gluten free delicious deserts. Recently winning The Grocer Best New Pud.
In the Tesco I was in they had two choices chocolate & orange or chocolate & salted caramel. Being a salted caramel lover and chocolate lover with Galaxy and Green & Blacks bars, I chose right. The desserts were £2.00 each or 2 for £3.50. Personally a bit much, unaware of what they were like. However Michelle seemed confident in purchasing them having them before. After dinner, whilst watching last weeks, Strictly Come Dancing, not realising or focussing too much, dessert was given to me.
Being a ready to eat dessert, meant no preparation and to leave in refrigerator until time to eat. It came in a cardboard sleeve leaving the sides visible to see into. Revealing a plastic lid, which was tightly on to see a cookery pot with a chocolate looking filling inside. The top of it had a harder layer protecting a softer mousse type layer. Taking the first bite I was shocked to find a salted flavour coming through until the very end. Taking my time and leaving the bite to melt in my mouth by the smooth finished mousse. Being satisfied with my chocolate craving and the flavours of sea salt coming through, I wondered what to do with the dish next. Being a crockery cooking dish like a crème brulee style pot. I went on their website to discover recipes and craft ideas to do with the pots. Overall I would by them again they were delicious, though costly worth the purchase as a splurge! Giving main food ideas, or growing seeds in the pots, then it definitely would encourage me to buy them again and not just for duck blue colour of the pot, to see if the other pots flavours are like.
Check their website and your local Tesco to find out if they are stocked near you. They were in chilled dessert section in our store.
