Down on the Farm!
Amners Farm is a working farm on the outskirts of Reading. Two weeks out of the year, they open their farm to allow lots of visitors to walk around and experience some first hand farming experience. Sarah and I planned on doing something fun with the boys whilst their dad was away playing golf, off to the farm we went. Sarah pre-booked the tickets, we put on our wellies, rain coats and headed to the farm. It has lots of things to keep little ones (& big ones) entertained.
First stop was the tractor ride. All the way around Josh kept going “Tractor”, which was really cute to hear. Next onto the list was lunch and feed Eoin. The coffee shop was in a barn, with a massive hay-bale play area (too big for Josh) and lots of stalls selling home-made products, jams, toys, wall art etc. Next was to see the sheep. Josh kept going around saying “sheep” and “more”, he loved it. I was glad we didn’t see any give birth. After going around the sheep twice. We headed to find the train, a miniature train, perfect size for Josh and Eoin, struggle for me and Sarah getting in and out. Last stop the petting barn, we saw pigs, more sheep getting sheared and some cute puppies and chicks for sale.
Overall a fun day out down the farm with Sarah and the boys. We both said it be fun next year taking both of them again, as Eoin be older and Josh be able to do the pony rides. I’ve not been on a farm for a long time, but Amner’s farm was cute. They did such a great job, the staff were friendly. Looking forward to going next year with the boys.
