Restaurant Review: Indo, Chobham
Last week, me, Dad and Michelle went out to celebrate her birthday. The night before dad said about going to a local curry house for a meal. The curry house is called Indo in the small village of Chobham.
We arrived and greeted and seated at our table. The waiter service was attentive, with delivering and clearing our food. It lacked in communication and felt very rushed and un-organised taking away crockery and not having full wine list on offer.
The curry was the best curry I’ve had for a very long time. Typical popadoms and dips to start with. Followed by a generous potions of starters including onion bharji, salmon barj and sag bharji. I chose the sag bharji, which was filled with flavour throughout the dish. Mains shortly followed which included a chicken rajoshahi, lamb naga, lamb jafalong as well as side dishes of pilau rice, peshwari naan and a dahl.
I chose the lamb jafalong, a dish cooked with fresh ginger garlic, roasted cumin, medium spices, fresh yoghurt & sweet mango. I’ve not heard of this dish before, I liked the sound of the sweet mango. Returning back that night I looked up a recipe, would love to try cooking it for myself.
The whole meal, myself, Dad and Michelle could not fault the food, however the service was attentive it needs to be looked at in areas. Overall I would return back to the curry house, just to taste the lamb jafalong again!!
