Woodley Carnival

After watching Woodley Carnival Parade we headed over to the park in Woodley to have a wander around the carnival. It was busy, with small children running around, people laughing and enjoying themselves, smell of hot food and stalls selling lots of delicious items.

When we arrived we saw lots of old fashion cars, including a 1950s police car, lots of sports car and what could only be described as a cool car. It was purple and had hand painted artwork of Scooby Doo characters.

Opposite the sports cars was arrange of fairground rides, including Waltzers, a Haunted Mansion and spin out chairs. There was the traditional stalls where you can win prize. A massive inflatable for kids to run around in.

Moving on there was a massive stage with performances including dancers, singers and a dog performing group. Behind there was stalls selling food and drink, including a company called The Fat Fox Food Co, which is one awesome name. There was choices of burgers, hot dogs, chips, Italian food and a subway van, which I’ve never seen before.

After stopping for a drink, we went for a wander around the stalls. Everyone was there and more including people trying to persuade to leave the EU or not. We spotted the Farm, so me and Josh went for a wander, whilst Eoin and Sarah went shopping.

We spotted, sheep, goats, a pig, donkeys, chickens and my favourite ducks! Going around I was asking Josh what sound the animals made and hear him say quack is so cute! He really liked seeing the animals and kept saying more as we were going around. He loved it!

Meeting back up with Sarah we decided to go look for dessert. We chose well with a White Chocolate Cheesecake and a Oreo Cheesecake, both equally delicious. We headed back with our cheesecakes, a free beach ball, two free bags with water bottles in it, information about the EU vote and pictures of ducks.

Overall a successful afternoon, Sarah said that they had more music acts on and fireworks on the night. With two small children under 2 years, maybe we should leave that for future years! Would definitely go back next year as it had lots of activities to keep the kids entertained, performances to watch including the dogs, cars to druel over and food and drink to consume.
