Restaurant Review: Pizza Express, Windsor
Like I said in previous posts, working in Windsor I am spoilt for choice on where to go for lunch. As it was my 30th birthday, me and a few of us from work decided to go out for lunch. I chose Pizza Express as it has great salads, pizza, pasta dishes on the menu to choose from. So it suits all needs and tastes.
Pizza Express in Windsor is set over three floors, with the top floor having a private room which can seat up to twelve people. Directly opposite Windsor Castle, it’s a great location and popular with tourists.
Walking you see the kitchen on the ground floor, which is open plan and you can see into the kitchen. The next two floors with cosy seating areas. Having been previous a few times, I knew the service would be quick, with attentive staff and great when you only have an hour for lunch.
Arriving there, we all chose to have a two course set menu, with an option of cheese garlic bread, dough balls or mozzarella and tomato salad and anything within reason (bases may cost more) for £9.95. If you don’t like this one check out o2 priority and Groupon for more deals.
I chose the mozerella and tomato salad, which came with a pesto and oil dressing. I love this combination and how fresh it was to start with. I find having dough balls or garlic bread heavy at times if choosing pizza for a main.
Having been to Pizza Express a lot, I know you can’t go wrong with either the Bosco or Polo salad. As it’s to celebrate my birthday I went for the Padana Pizza. This pizza is a vegetarian option with goats cheese, caramelised onion, spinach and garlic oil topping. This pizza is one of my favourites, I wish they did it in the supermarkets.
Overall I had a fabulous time with people from work celebrating my birthday for a cheeky lunch out to Pizza Express. Thanks everyone who came, I had a blast!!
