Why I chose to have food delivered to my door

The one thing me, Dad and Michelle have in common is food.

We all love to cook and try new recipes. We all like to watch cookery shows. We’ve all been to food fairs together. We all like tasting different and new foods. We will all come in and say about foods we’ve had for lunch or dinner and recipes we put forward to try.Another thing we have common in now, is we work long hours and don’t have time to cook fresh dishes during the week. Since living with them, I’ve realised like most people they get into a patter of having the same meals each week. For example, Monday nights would be Thai green curry, Tuesday would be fish cakes and wedges, Wednesday night is pasta and sauce, Thursday would be spaghetti bolognese and Friday night of course is pizza night. The weekend comes and the time for cooking wold bring exciting dishes like harissa stuffed lamb and cous cous or homemade Mexican fish tacos.

When the opportunity came to test out a Hello Fresh classic box, I jumped at the chance…..

Hello Fresh is the leading cook from scratch delivery box. The idea is they do the shopping, they decide on the recipe, write you out instructions and deliver the box straight to your door. When you open it all you have to do is cook it. It’s restaurant standard quality food. Each meal will take no longer then 30 minutes to cook, with a easy step-by-step guide to follow, even gives you hints and tips and when to tidy up.

The box was delivered straight to the house, with it packaged well to keep it all nice and fresh! Once going into the box I was surprised on how many ingredients you were given and the quality of the products as well. The products were premium, with seeing brands like Gressingham Ducks, Bath Pig Chorizo and Biona premium lentils.

The three meals I got given was;

  1. Mango Chutney Chicken with Spiced Bulgar and Roasted Romanesco
  2. Roasted Duck with Spiced Lentils and Caramelised Apples
  3. Strolling Rigatoni with Cherry Tomatoes and Mozerella

So here I am, three meals to cook, two people to impress to see if I can change their minds and see if we can get out of having the same meals each week. Click on the recipes to see what I thought of each one.
