Restaurant Review: The Brownie Bar – Newcastle
The Brownie Bar is originally from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne having its own bar in Eldon Square. Whilst visiting the toon at Christmas, I popped by the Brownie bar to pick up one!
The bar was originally set up by two sisters, since grown and developed and you can now purchase online. I’ve since seen them at different food festival locations like at Cake and Bake Show in both Harrogate and London. Trying the brownie, its heavenly filling of salted caramel, I had to go get one or at least try another one.
The bar had 15 choices to choose from, only wanting one, it’s a tough decision to make. Choices include Salted Caramel, Oreo, Corker and more just in their brownie flavors. Not including brownie bombs (round brownies shaped with different fillings) and corker (soft cookie with a brownie in the middle).
I chose the Triple Chocolate Bar. The bar was heavenly with a rich dark chocolate taste, a gooey middle and crunchy bites of chocolate on the outside. The bar was perfect to half and share. Not too sickly like some brownies. With a price of £1.80 or four for £6.50 I didn’t think it was too expensive for the quality and the size. The stall was packed with people buying lots of flavors, which is always a good sign.
Although I couldn’t stop at the bar for a cup of coffee, I liked the atmosphere, stool bars and a variety of beverages to choose from. It’s quite small, but I guess they don’t need a lot of room, as most people take away. Well that’s how it was when I was there.
Ever in Newcastle or you spot The Brownie Bar – try one you won’t be disappointed!
