Gin Review: Guildhall Island Gin
Working in Windsor, we have so many different pubs / bars to choose from for an after work drink.
Queen Charlotte pub, is close-by to Windsor Castle and town centre. When walking in, it has two large areas to sit in and a long bar running alongside one of the walls. Opposite has a wall with lots of artwork around the words Queen Charlotte on them, perfect for a selfie or two!
The Queen Charlotte has twenty-one different gin to try. The usual classics are on the menu, including Bombay, Gordons and Tanqueray. There was also others I recognised like Martin Millers and Ginmare. The pub had a display of a local gin called Guildhall Island Gin. This gin is made in Windsor and is very popular. As a fan of supporting local companies and gins, I tried it. It came with a Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic and a slice of grapefruit.
Since going to the Queen Charlotte pub for the first time before Christmas, I have now had it with normal tonic. It has now become a favorite drink and a spot to go for a drink after work. Not only do you have space inside to sit, even with a group of people. Outside they have a cobbled area with table and seats to sit. I personally like it when you can do this, especially when you can overlook the castle and watch the world go by.
Ever in Windsor I fully recommend the Queen Charlotte….
