Restaurant Review: Wagamama
I’ve been to Wagamama lots when working in Windsor. It’s around the corner from my work so great for speedy, slurpy lunch breaks, and in a city where space really is a premium, it’s one of the few places you can guarantee to be seated if you are with a group with no reservation. I’ve always found their entry-level inspired food really fresh, filling, relatively healthy (check the menu before you go as some items are really calorific) and good value.
I thought I would share some of my favorite dishes I order on a rotation when I go.
Prawn Lollipop – These are super expensive for what they are as a marinated prawn. However the flavor you get from the chili and coriander is delicious. I do love these, but it’s only for a special occasion.
Ebi Katsu – This is prawns dipped in panko breadcrumbs then deep fried. You then have a side sauce, chili and garlic dip, which is delicious. These prawns are deep fried, so unhealthy but the with the dip their delicious. I love deep fried prawns you get from Yo Sushi, these are similar.
Shirodashi Ramen -This bowl is one of my favorites, however it is not perfect to eat on a first date or with work colleagues. As it goes everywhere with the chicken broth sauce. I love the fresh taste with the pea shoots and the egg gives it another texture.
Ginger Chicken Udon – Ginger Chicken Udon I’ve had a lot, as it’s one of my favorite. I love the taste of the pink onions on top and the crunch of the fried udon noodles. The freshneess of the onions and coriander is delicious. I love that there are so many people who have put their own version of a fakeaway version at home.
Pad Thai – Another one which I order as well, is the Pad Thai. Now I know you can make Pad Thai at home. Classically known as street food in Thailand. The one thing I like about this dish is that every taste is different when you bite into it.
Wagamama is perfect choice for a lunch time spot. As it has different dishes and so much to chose from. I fully recommend them, as Windsor isn’t the only branch I have visited. As I have been to others throughout the UK.
