Theatre Review: The Power of Imagination, Windsor
Living in Windsor, I have the choice of two theatres to attend and a numerous of comedy clubs to attend. One is Fire Station Windsor which you can imagine is a refurbished fire station turned into bar and theatre. The venue is small, with a floor style stage and teared seating arrangement, but if you can go, I would fully recommend it.
One Friday night I was lucky enough to have gotten a ticket to go see The Power of Imagination by Lance Corporal Richard Jones. You may recognise the name if you watched Britains Got Talent, as he is the only magician to have won the show. Since winning the show Richard has now become a world-class magician, mentalist and mind reader. He has now brought his show back to the UK, which sold out in Windsor.
I don’t want to give the show away, but for me Richard’s mind reading, was amazing to watch first hand. As I’ve never been to a magic show before, it was interesting seeing it first hand. Especially as Richard interacted with the audience, which made it feel like it wasn’t staged at all. I think my favorite trick was seeing him change cards from person to another. Throughout the show he amazed me, even the young kids in the theatre watching too.
After the show I was lucky enough to meet him and grab a selfie with him. He was spectacular and I would love the opportunity to see him again performing his tricks. Looking at his website, he also does motivational speeches, hearing about his time in the Parachute Regiment before being in the Royal Calvary. That’s the next look out….
