Recipe Review: Purple Prickle Pancakes
My two little nephews, absolutely love the book The Gruffalo. Last year we went to Chessington World of Adventure to go ride The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure (read here). Me and the boys have watched and read the book countless times and have made a big jigsaw puzzle with him on it. Like all big fans they have other bits with him on it too, but one caught my eye, when I recently stayed with them. The Gruffalo Crumble, cookbook.
Reading the book it has lots of recipes I want to try, including Roasted Fox, Owl Ice-cream, Scrambled Snake and Gruffalo Crumble. I decided to try the Purple Prickle Pancakes, like the Gruffalo has all over his back.
Now your probably reading this recipe, thinking, there nothing special and just purple pancakes. You’re right, they are, but let’s just pretend their purple prickles like on the Gruffalo.
Pancakes are favorite thing to have especially on Sunday mornings. The recipe is really quick and easy, child friendly too. Telling you tips and what you need. Mostly store cupboard staples and things you find in the fridge. It says if your a fan of The Gruffalo Child (the second book) you can use raspberries and have Pink Prickles like Gruffalo Child.
So here we go Purple Prickle Pancakes, easy for kids to make and big kids at heart. If your nephew, niece, little one or whoever loves The Gruffalo I would totally recommend this cook book. I think next time I would love the chance to cook with the little nephews… that be for the next blog post?
