Reasons why we should love Sheridan
So I’m laid in bed with a cuppa Horlicks, candle burnings watching Sheridan. An audience style show where Alexander Armstrong asks her questions about different roles. Thinking about all the roles she has been in. There’s nothing she has done you can’t love her in.
Gavin and Stacey was where I noticed Sheridan. I remember her character from The Royle Family and her role in Two pints of larger and a packet of crisps. Gavin and Stacey is my favourite Welsh show due to the comedy, how you relate to characters and the acting. Sheridan played Rudy or Ruth as her brother Smithy would call her. I loved when she flipped over the car, rocked up to Neil’s christening drunk, your not heavy your my brother scene, nessa present scene and the rap.
She’s portrayed two strong women Cilla Black and Mrs Briggs. Both were gold dust TV series. I an pleased in her new album she has included Cilla’s Anyone who had a heart. Her cover is flawless.
She’s also done other roles you might have forgotten like, Benidorm, The C Word, 7.39, The Moorside and Jonathan Creek‘s assistant. She’s had smaller roles in Fat Friend’s and Doctor’s. Even got to be the care home manager in The Quartets.
I hold my hands up that I have seen Legally Blonde 5 times on stage and 4 out of 5 was with Sheridan Smith. Its my favorite non Disney musical. I constantly play the soundtrack, it got me up and down to Chester regularly and even today it picks me up. Take it like a man and Chip on my shoulder are my two favorite songs. I wish I went to see her in Funny Girl.
Sheridan Smith in my eyes is a national treasure as she can do everything, act, sing, present and is relatable person in every possible way. You cannot help but smile when you see her.
Last night whilst writing this blog I was in tears when watching her perform Dreamgirls And I am telling you. Her album is going my list to buy….. See her in concert would be amazing.
Sheridan Smith you are just amazing.
