Photo Diary: London at Christmas
I went around London and I thought I would share some of my photos. I loved the lights this year they look so pretty and sparkly. Really got me into the festive season this year. I was lucky to get the chance to walk around the streets, then go on a Christmas lights tour with Premium Tours.
First stop was seeing Trafalgar Square Christmas tree. An iconic landmark to visit at Christmas time due to the history. In 1947 the first Christmas tree came over from Norway as a gift and it’s been like that ever since.
Along Regent Street they have angels decorating the road from side to side. Not my style, but they look pretty.
This year Oxford Street is sponsored by the NSPCC and Sky. Each twinkly bauble has been donated by either the full length of Oxford Street. I personally preferred Oxford Street to Regent Street, as it was more my style.
Bond Street theme was peacock feathers, similar to Carnaby Street area this year. I did like the style of it and suited bond street very well.
Carnaby Street had a festival theme this year. I did like it, but I’m not a fan of pink flamingos, so sadly not my favorite. Normally I love Carnaby Street and a big fan!
In Knightsbridge we have Harrods, the beautiful lights gleaming the building need to be mentioned. I think Harrods had my favorite lights of the year.
Palace of Westminster tree, had no star at the top of it, very disappointing.
London Eye looked beautiful all lit up in red.
I know this isn’t Christmas lights related, but I loved seeing St. Pancras Christmas Tree this year too. Another one I liked too was the reindeer in Covent Garden too.
It was my first real year I got to go into London around Christmas time. I’m really pleased I did. I went at the start of the month, on a week day so the crowds on the streets were quieter then what it would be on a weekend. Perfect when you want to take photos, walking up down seeing the window displays too.
