Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your stuff.
Created by A. A. Milne the tale of a boy, Christopher Robinand a bear is simple and sweet and yet it’s beyond an international sensation. The honey-obsessed Pooh Bear and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood are mostly known for their Disney adaptations, but they originated from a series of written stories. The books date all the way back to the 1920s and so there is a rich history.
The Victoria and Albert Museum is situated in London South Kensington and has a paid exhibit all about this Silly Old Bear. Not only does the exhibition showcase many variations of the stories through the years, it also highlights the different companies that have collaborated to create and spread the love for a stuffed toy further.
Here’s the photos I took whilst visiting the exhibit.
Everyone loves Winnie the Pooh. He is kind, funny, and loves honey. Christopher Robin and his friends never stop entertaining; Owl, Eyore, Rabbit, Roo, Piglet and of course Tiger. The exhibit has a perfect mix of culture, books and history of the books. The exhibit is interactive for young children to feel likely they really are in 100 Acre Wood.
As a final quote from this Silly Old Bear, one of my favourites is;
“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think,” Christopher Robin.
